Launch of The Knowledge - Summer 06 |
Ylem are proud to announce the launch of an incredible new addition to their product range. The knowledge is the latest brain child of our technical director Bill Wilson. A system designed from the ground up to be tailored for any application, process or need. It can be used for problems as diverse as sales management, HR, Training records, PAT Testing or even policing and detection.
Talking at the internal product launch meeting in September Bill said: " I recognised the shortcomings in most CRM systems including our own. When people move jobs; When companies change names or addresses; When companies / people have multiple addresses, phone numbers, email addresses etc. etc. Most systems just do not cope "
Bill went on to say "we set out create a system with very simple rules, but no limitations, about data items and how they interact with each other. Then we would be able to easily develop and grow very complex systems for a multitude of purposes" The possible applications and flexibility of such a system are staggering. Where analysis and management of complex data sets that involve people, places, items and organisations is needed the Knowledge provides the solution.
Items can be as diverse as being actual physical items, concepts, hobbies or activities, training programs, contracts etc. In fact Items can be anything imaginable. Acting on informationThe Knowledge is more than just having the power to manage complex data sets. It is about being able to schedule activities and actions and act upon the data.

Ylem goes even Greener - Spring 06 |
Ylem's latest asset to the business is a strange one for a technology company. The new tractor and wood movement equipment is used at Ylem's head office on Exmoor in Devon.
The equipment from Dragon Industries is used to feed what is affectionately called "Puff The Magic Dragon".,a wood and waste fired boiler which deals with all our central heating and hot water needs.
The wood used is from local sustainable sources and wastes are all clean burning waste products.
